I do not photograph weddings. Nothing against them it just isn't what floats my boat. So I wanted to talk today about Event Photography. When I say this it is entirely different from a wedding. I am talking about parties, Family reunions, Retirement parties etc... here are a few photos from past events I have shot.

TIPS SO YOUR EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY GOES SMOOTHLY

  • Book your photographer as far in advance as possible. It is hard to find photographers with availability around the Holidays and weekends so give as much notice as possible
  • Let your guests know there will be a photographer there. No One likes to be bombarded unexpectedly with a professional camera in their face. Maybe they will want to have their hair or makeup done before hand
  • Sign contracts and have money settled before the event helps then you don't waste your time discussing this and your photographer can be grabbing those special moments
  • Have your photographer show up early so they can be set up and ready when the guest of honor arrives
